Our Founder

David Knopf is president and founder of Knopf Online, a San Francisco-based firm that provides development, training, and consulting services to the high-tech industry and the business community. David is a specialist in technical communications, online user assistance, structured authoring, single sourcing, and XML.

As an expert in online technologies, David has taught dozens of seminars on how to think about, design, create, produce, and distribute high-quality online information products. Since 1981, as a writer, trainer, project manager, and developer of online information products, Knopf has worked with a wide variety of clients and in most major computing environments.

As a project manager and department head, David has managed all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of printed and online information products--everything from creating an initial concept through final production and manufacturing. Publications developed by David have twice won an Award of Merit in the International Technical Publications Competition of the Society for Technical Communication (STC).

David is an Adobe® Certified Expert for FrameMaker®, a WebWorks® Publisher Certified Trainer and Consultant, and a charter member of RoboGurus. David has also been a Certified RoboHelp® Instructor (1997-2002), a RoboHelp MVP (2000-2002), a member of the RoboHelp Community Advisory Board (2000-2002), and a member of the Sun's JavaHelp® 2.0 Expert Group.
