Society for Technical Communication

American
Society for Training & Development - The international professional
organization for workplace learning and performance. ASTD's mission is to
provide leadership to individuals, organizations, and society to achieve
work-related competence, performance, and fulfillment.
National Writers
Union - The trade union for freelance writers of all genres who work
for American publishers or employers. NWU is committed to improving the
economic and working conditions of freelance writers through the collective
strength of more than 5,000 members in 17 local chapters throughout the
country.
HTML Writers Guild - The
largest international organization of Web authors with over 85,000 members
in more than 130 nations worldwide. The HWG exists to help members develop
and enhance their capabilities as Web authors, to compile and publicize
information about standards, practices, techniques, competency, and ethics
as applied to Web authoring, and to contribute to the development of the
Web and Web technical standards and guidelines
Usability Professionals
Association - A forum to promote usability concepts and techniques worldwide.
An opportunity to network with other usability professionals on the web
and at the annual conference. A quarterly newsletter that keeps you up on
current issues.
